Lewis Hamilton will be gracious in case of defeat

F1 Update – The German can win his first title this weekend at Abu Dhabi and will be eager to put a halt in his Mercedes team-mates dominance over the last few years.

LEWIS HAMILTON will be secretly HAPPY if Nico Rosberg wins the Formula One title this weekend — according to his former karting boss Dino Chiesa.

The Italian oversaw their fledgling careers in 2000 at karting team MBM.com where Hamilton got the better over the German.

However, going into this weekend’s F1 season finale in Abu Dhabi, Chiesa believes Rosberg could now come out on top for the first time in their careers.

And if he does triumph at the Duel in the Desert, Chiesa says Hamilton will take it on the chin.

He said: “Lewis is more mature now than when he raced for me and I think he will be quietly happy for Nico to win the championship.

“When Lewis and Nico were on the podium in the first race in 2008 in Australia, Lewis called me 10 minutes afterwards and said ‘hey did you see we are on the podium together’.

“Lewis now has three titles and he wants to win number four but if Nico wins, in his heart, he will be happy.
